Authorities said Thursday morning that U.S. marshals in Lehigh Acres had detained a Miami husband and wife on Wednesday on suspicion of molesting a minor girl. The victim was 13 years old when the alleged crimes took place, according to Miami police, but the pair had already left Miami. According to an arrest warrant, Yulian Jaqueline Garcia Castro, 39, and Edwin Erasmo Vasquez Vasquez, 50, met the victim at church. According to the police, the victim stayed at the couple’s house in July 2023 and slept in their bed, which they also shared with their two children, ages 7 and 9.
The victim claimed that when Castro instructed her to sleep with her husband, he started kissing the child on the mouth and touching her breast and vagina. According to authorities, Castro instructed the couple to kiss as they were sending the victim off at home in another instance. According to the police, both the victim and Vasquez originally objected before complying. The warrant states that Castro instructed her husband to accompany the victim in the backseat as they were heading to the victim’s house later.
Police claimed that after doing so, Vasquez took off the victim’s leggings and attempted to rape her, but was thwarted when his penis began to bleed. The warrant states that Castro instructed her husband to lift the victim’s clothing and molest her on December 23, 2023, while she was preparing her hair for a religious function. Her husband obliged. According to officials, the woman was abused by both of them when she was sleeping at their house two days later. According to the police, the victim was abused by the husband later that morning while his wife looked on. Both are charged with multiple charges of lewd and lascivious conduct on a minor, lewd and lascivious molestation on a minor, and $exual battery on a minor.
As of Thursday morning, the couple was not listed in the Miami-Dade County jail database. Whether they had already been sent to Miami was unclear at first. The Miami Police Department is asking that anyone with information about this case or other cases relating to child $exual abuse contacts their Special Victims Unit at 305-603-6300.
