REC share price edge higher as Indian PSU set to declare 4th interim dividend in FY25

Stock market today: Tuesday saw the REC share price continue its upward trajectory for the third consecutive session, following the Indian stock market’s favorable trend. Within minutes of the Opening Bell, the price of REC shares reached an intraday high of โ‚น418.70 per share after opening with an upside gap on the NSE today at โ‚น416.75 per share.

Since the Indian PSU scheduled a board meeting for March 19, 2025, to discuss and accept the proposal for the fourth interim dividend in the fiscal year 2024โ€“2025, the PSU stock was not in the spotlight.

“We wish to inform that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company is scheduled on 19/03/2025, inter alia, to consider and approve the proposal for declaration of 4th Interim Dividend, if any, for the financial year 2024-25,” REC said in a statement to the Indian stock market exchanges regarding the proposal for the fourth interim dividend.

History of REC dividends

If announced, this will be REC’s fourth interim dividend for the 2024โ€“2025 fiscal year. In order to pay its eligible shareholders the first interim dividend of โ‚น3.50 per share, REC shares traded ex-date on August 9, 2024. To determine the list of shareholders who are qualified to receive โ‚น4 and โ‚น4.30 per share, respectively, the ex-dates for trading were November 8, 2024, and February 14, 2025.

REC dividend yield Therefore

The net REC dividend yield in FY25 is approximately 2.56%, which is anticipated to increase following the announcement of the fourth interim dividend on Wednesday. The total REC dividend paid out in FY25 prior to the fourth interim dividend was โ‚น11.80 per share, and REC shares were available for purchase at approximately โ‚น460 on April 1, 2024.
